tested and approved to break down in a commercial composting facility without
leaving harmful chemicals behind. BPI (Biodegradable Products Institute) is a
trusted organization that sets strict standards to ensure that compostable products truly decompose and turn into nutrient-rich soil.

For a product to be BPI Certified, it must:

1. Break down completely in a commercial composting facility within their
predetermined set amount of time.

2. Leave no toxic residue behind so that it is safe for plants, soil and the
environment.

3. Not made of traditional plastics, which do not break down properly

The BPI Compostable logo indicates that a product has been tested and will
properly decompose in a composting facility, not a landfill or your backyard
compost
